Chinese New yEar!!!!

“Happy Chinese New Year to all my friends,
I’m so happy that I could party and dance.
But that’s not an option since I’m Islam,
I’ll just hold myself back and ‘ucapkan salam’. (-_-“)

Tangerines, ang paos, and fire crackers,
Cheong sam, lanterns, and lion dancers,
When else can you find it if not on that day?
Aren’t you glad you could enjoy it as you may?

Happy Chinese New Year! :D”

This year’s Chinese New Year was a lot more exhilarating than last year’s!

Some my cousins (Reuven and Neathan) came back to celebrate it together with us~

On the first day of Chinese New Year,

We celebrated it at my house.

Me, my sis and mom, worked really hard since morning to cook for that day,

We cooked;

A pot of chicken curry,

A mountain of fried chicken,

Two plates of pudding,

Two types of fried vegetables,

And a plate of fried prawn.

Seems like a lot, right?

But it didn’t seem so to my father,

Cause he went out just to buy some more food,

Some roasted fish and roasted chicken…

In the end, we had to eat the same food (leftovers) for two whole days,

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner…

I think I’m gonna be sick… (-.-“)

But that isn’t the point!

A lot of my cousins and my dad’s siblings and cousins came on that day.

The house was a non-stop chatter box,

(Though not as loud as when it was in Hari Raya)

The elders chatted with among themselves,

While the most of the youngsters,

Went surfing online instead,

Since my dad owns a wifi at home and all~

We also watched a Chinese movie called, “Shaolin",

It wasn’t really a funny movie,

But the subtitles were damn hilarious!

I can’t stop laughing when I read the subtitles.

One of the mistakes in the subtitle was;

They changed the word “Shao Lin” to ‘small wood’!

How on earth could they mistake “Shao Lin” to ‘small wood’ is beyond me,

Nonetheless, I couldn’t stop laughing every time the word was mentioned.

You may had think that I shouldn’t have read the subtitles then since it was wrong,

And since I could understand the language in the movie and all,

Still, there was something about subtitles that made me prefer to have them on and read them while watching movies,

Even if I understood the language that was used.

Alas, that’s my own problem isn’t it?

It was really a joyous and tiring Chinese New Year. ^^

Nevertheless, a thought didn’t slipped away from me,

Even among those happy times.

That is, somehow,

I notice that, we began to move,

From celebrating CNY at my grandmother’s house in Gopeng,

To celebrating it at my house in Ipoh instead!

I really missed those days where we celebrated the CNY at my grandma’s house,

And stayed over the night,

And played firecrackers and others with my cousins…

…I wonder when I’ll be able to do all those things again…*sighs*

I really missed those days…

Well, anyways, my brother had taken a lot of pics on that day.

And here they are!^^

Happy Chinese New Year to people who are reading this! :D
